What I learn about culture

I have learnt some culture of Ireland and some of Australia too with the film.

In this unit, I think I need to work on the listening and on the reading, like always.

AUSTRALIA

Lady Sarah Ashley travels to the distant continent to meet her husband. When she arrives at the place located near Darwin, she finds her husband dead. The property is managed by Fletcher (David Wenham), who has a son named Nullah. He is part of the so-called Australian lost generations (mixture of white with aborigine).

Fletcher abuses the aborigines, and Lady Ashley fired him for transferring cattle to King Carney, an antagonist squire of the region. Fletcher retires and next to him, all his men, leaving the house without men to herd thousands of heads of cattle that are scattered in the meadows. There is only one accountant left, an alcoholic man named Kipling Flynn. Fortunately Lady Ashley meets a strongman, whom they call Drover (Hugh Jackman), he helps them. Lady Ashley falls in love with Nullah

As Nullah is a mixture, he is wanted by the police and is forced to hide in a water tank, Nullah's mother, Daisy, hides with him; and some trawlers open some of the valves in the tank that causes the tank to recharge. Nullah and Daisy try to save themselves by the ladder but it is broken, then they try to save themselves with the fleecer but while the bad ones go Daisy dies drowned.

Together, Ashley, Droover, Kipling Flyn, the Chinese cook Sing Song and Nullah


 They make a trip but Fletcher and his men intervene to prevent it. They have to cross a desert to carry the cows. Lady Ashley and drover fall in love in the middle of the story.

Nullah is caught by the police for being a mestizo and sent to an island of missionaries to educate him as a target. Fletcher kills Carney making it look like a crocodile attack and assumes Carney's fortune and assets by marrying Catherine, one of Carney's daughters. When they arrive with the cows to Darwin, Carney can not believe that Lady Ashley and Drover have been able to cross the terrible desert with thousands of cows and Ashley wins the contract. Sarah and Drover begin a relationship, but end up arguing because Nullah wants to leave with her grandfather.

However, the Japanese bring the war to Australia and all are caught in the aerial bombardment of the city of Darwin immediately after the attack on Mr. Harbor. Amid the chaos left by the bombing, Drover rescues Nullah by losing Magarri, his right hand in his adventures and Fletcher is killed by Gulapa when Fletcher tries to shoot Nullah. Finally Sarah, the Caporal and Nullah return to their home, and Nullah begins her journey with her grandfather.

This film is a good film but I don´t really like this type of films.The film was located in the 40s, before the beginning of the 2nd world war. I like hilarious films and policials and horror films.

Almudena Cid Tostado was born in Vitoria (15 of june, 1980). She is a spanish exrythmic gimnast. She has comited on the internacional team of España. She has participated in four Olympic Games: Atlanta 1996, Sydney 2000, Athens 2004 and Beijing 2008, obtaining the diploma in the last two and being the only rhythmic gymnast who has played four Olympic finals.
He got official international medals and got eigth titles of champion of Spain in the category of honor.
